Another Place In Time
David Arendsee

Yesterday I touched it,
 Another place in time:
Knowing, now in retrospect,
 That unconditional love and caring
Brought diverse individuals
 Together, into a somewhat perfect fit,
Creating memories that light
 A quiet winter night with a fire's glow.

It is an adolescent right
 To search for fiends in
Yesterday's strangers.
 It was our privilege to find those
Friends -- forever.
 Perhaps it was a Teen Club
Full of life and sport;
 Perhaps it was exceptional schooling
Preparing for a future;
 Perhaps it was dances
Creating social skills;
 Whatever -- it was the togetherness
Of those seeking and needing each other,
 An none other could fulfill.
